gps tracking system?

i want to buy a gps system for my husband, but not sure what to get. ive been looking online and found two that seem pretty cool and that have good reviews. but i cant seem to figure out what the big deal is between the two except for the 0 price difference. Can someone help me pick? Also, if theres a better one out there what is it? i know that i want the text to speech feature, but not sure what other features are important/nice to have. im also not sure which is better/ has more memory. the ones with the built in memory or the ones that have sd cards. HELP! I dont want to spend more than 0. the two that i am currently torn between are the garmin nuvi 350 and the garmin nuvi 260w…basically i want to know what the diff is between the two, which would you all reccommend, is there a better one out there for what i want to spend, and what features are a must have in a gps??

My boss uses the Garmin….and I have the Tom Tom ONE….

    Both work great….

I take it your husband’s job requires a GPS navigator, so let me tell you that even my $150 Tom Tom One does EVERYTHING I need when I’m on the road….

Finds my destination …. that’s important.
Finds Gas Stations …. That’s REAL important !

Text to Speech…well, that’s FUN…it’s hilarious when the GPS tries to pronounce Wapakoneta or Lima or Iroquois or Braunfelter or Salamonie…especially Salamonie (Suh-lahh-muhn-nee).

    Mmmmm, Salami Drive….yummm…..

Anyways, back to you. Text to Speech really isn’t important when the DISPLAY shows you EXACTLY where to turn….that’s actually better than the text-to-speech option butchering the road name (like AC-1 becomes ACK ONE)

Yeah, I DRIVE various counties…Turn left on ACK One then turn right on One Ay One away…

    WHAT?!
And then you go flying into a 20 Foot Ditch from that distraction !

Listen, I LIKE the 260w…..the 350 is just as good because BOTH will get you where you need to go….

But I will warn you….NEW units still need map updates…even the newest ones…..

I had to pay about $60.00 to update my maps right out of the box…

    Find Leufenhofer Road….
    Does not exist…

Great….Now I have to go to Verizon Navigator on my phone….

    Find Leufenhofer Road…
    Turn right….WOOHOO! It knows !

20 minutes later.. Turn Left on Looo Fenn Hooooo Fir…

    What?! Aaaaah! Tractor ! Ditch ! Son of a B !

Text to Speech….It’s not as important as a good picture.

We just purchased the Garmin nuvi 260 the difference between it and the 260w is the screen width, my husband uses it on trip for business. It list most streets, with the exception of little dirt roads and some private roads, it gives you the text at the top along with the spoken directions. I am not really sure of the difference on the 2 you are requesting but thought this would give a little insight to the 260w, plus the 260 we purchased was $268 at Wal-Mart.

I just got the 260W. The diff. between the 260 and 260W is the 260W has the bigger screen. Go to Garmin.com and you can compare models side by side. Also I went to Best Buy and got a paper that has differ ant Garmin units and could co pare some side by side. I like the 260W am getting acquainted to it.
